HDXV Gets another one!

Hi All!

It's been a little while since I've been over to the circles, but I thought to share our new review with you and also a little bit of news.

First, Enjoy The Music surprised us this month with a review for the HDXV by Rick Becker. I say "surprised" as we had no idea that Rick even had the cable, and much less that he was working on a review about it. You can read the review at http://www.enjoythemusic.com in the reviews section, along with lots of other great articles. A little teaser just for the fun of it:

"So, how did the Stereovox compare with the Illuminati D60? Basically, it made it obsolete."

Next, I know that many of you have been wondering when we'll be releasing more products into the Studio line. Well ... soon. Within about 8 weeks or so we should be releasing the first new products into the line, which will be two small interconnects called HDSE and HDSE+ respectively. The HDSE coaxial will be a special copper conductor in a high-density PTFE tape dielectric with silver-plated copper sheilding, terminated with special RCAs. The HDSE+ coaxial will be a special silver conductor in a low-density PTFE tape dielectric with silver-plated copper sheilding, terminated with sp3ecial RCA's. Similar, but not the same. Price? Hard to say right now but if the connectors come in at what I estimate they should come in at, then we are looking at prices under $500/pr.

Later on, perhaps in Summer, we will release the Studio loudspeaker cables, the HDLS and the HDLS+ so hang in there and keep those records spinning!

Have a great weekend!

Chris

P.S. We may be releasing some very nice jumper-cables for your loudspeakers, as well ... stay tuned!

Is the 'studio line' the 'somewhat affordable' line?  Seems like I remember Stereovox speaker cables in the multi-thousands? For instance, I know these aren't cheap:

The digital cable is so affordable yet the IC's and speaker cables are so much more expensive.  I hope that's what the studio line addresses.

Are these new cables anything like the LSP600's?

The Studio Line has been designed to catch what is trickling down from the Reference line, plus blaze some new trails of its own. It is intended to be more economical than the Reference Line while still drawing much of its technology from what has been established in the products that exist above it.

"Affordable" is a relative term, obviously, but the mission statement for the Studio Line is simply to capture much of what has been achieved in the Reference Line in products that are priced at fractions of the Reference Line numbers.

I wouldn't say "trickling down'.  I think there is a steady FLOW of people who can't afford the Reference.

I read Vox's comments to mean the design lessons learned were trickling down to the Studio line... not the customer base's willingness to spend.

If that business model works as well as it has for other companies, I can see these cables being worth a shot.... and I'd be interested to hear how the compare to the Audience as well.  So far, the Audience has gotten the music right better than any cable I've heard in the past 5 or so years of trying various brands.

So, when will they be available?  Need an auditioner?  Beta-tester?

I write fairly well, am fairly objective, and can compare results to what I'm listening for in musical presentation.   :)

Thanks,
Carl

Correct read on that, Carlman. We're going to be building cables that derive some materials and ocnstruction from the Reference Line, but that will sell for much lower prices than Reference.

Thanks for the offer of beta, but all of our products are tested in-house ... don't worry, I think we have good taste

The interconnects should be released within 8-10 weeks if everything goes according to plan!

Cheers!

Chris:

Is HDSE+ out yet?

Also, is it balanced?  Looks like I may be switching to balanced in the near future, and Au24 price nearly DOUBLES in balanced configuration.  That puts one close to the Stereovox reference line of cables, and I am not prepared to spend much more than what I already have.

Thanks,

B

HDSE and HDSE+ aren't out yet ... we're close to getting HDSE out of production and ready to terminate, but I'm not quite finished with the RCA design. In the future we will have a balanced Studio product, but the timing on that product isn't nailed down yet ... several other products are in the queue ahead of it (including an AES/EBU for the Studio line). I hope to have the Studio catalog complete by Next January's CES, which would include balanced cables, but I'm not rushing to meet a deadline ... I want to be sure these things are worthy before hitting the market.

Cheers!

Chris
