Listening Room is going away in 2 months
« on: 6 May 2011, 01:55 am »
The wife and I made the decision today to take care of her grandmother for the next few years... this means that the room I have wanted all my life and worked very hard the last few months is going away   .. But family comes first..

So any weekend from now and until the first week of July, my room is open for a session... After that, my Speakers are going to my dad's but may take a short trip to Blackmore's if he wants them and the Korado goodness back to Pape..

I think my old man will be setting up a new room in his basement to accommodate as now he's getting mine..

I am designing and building a loudspeaker for Jim Pendleton at Osage to sell here within the week and will be making one in the future for my living room so I can still have a great system to play and have people over...

Hate to hear it but really proud of you for the trip you are about to embark on. I left a pretty decent job to move back to NC. cause my mother in-law would not move up to Rhode Island with my wife and me when she started having problems. Ten days after our move she had a grand mall seizure and never got out of the hospital. She passed away three months later. After looking back on that time, I wouldn't change a thing. My wife and her mother are among the best people I have ever been around and feel lucky to have the opportunity I have.

That's a wonderful thing you and your wife are doing.  Let me know if you need to have the Seditions at my house for a while until your Dad gets his room running.  And Lowtherhaus is always open if you need to come over and hang.   Talk to you soon.

Hey, leave everything set up, maybe she is like you and want something nice to listen too. :)

We have been preparing ourselves for a possible move-in from my in-laws.  They are 79 and 82.

Hey Randy,

That is absolutely the right thing to do. We moved my mom in for the last year or so that she was with us. I wouldn't change a thing.

Think of it this way, they help us come into this life and it's our responsibility to help them on their way out. And before you know it, it will be our turn to be taken care of again. The years fly by way too fast.

I'll make it over sometime soon...if I ever get this basement remodel done  :duh:

+1! on doing the right thing.

I almost invited my dad to live with us for a a while when things were rough for him.  He died of a heart attack shortly after.

Nearly 25 years later I still miss him.

Karma is real and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.  Things will work out for you and your family. In the meantime, you can come over here any time.....though I doubt you'll convince my wife to let me put pillows on the ceiling.  :D

Thanks dude... this was a choice I had to make after the last MS relapse the wife had which is resulting in her going on full time disability at the age of 32.. her medication costs alone push almost $100,000 annually..

In regards to my work... not at all.. infact, after we get caught up... you'll start seeing allot of work being created and me focusing on the audio art shows which has always been my direction.. I also should be building a continual loudspeaker for Jim at Osage soon that will be allot of fun...

Hey Randy! I also want to acknowledge your decision to support your family and loved ones. Good boogie. Good decision. If you get a chance, or would like a "day away," think about making the drive down here to our property. Good tunes and good company. You'd love what were doing. Take care. Din Dayemi
