My 'talent' for doing reviews is zero. So all I can say i said. It sounds nice to me.
I do not like boomy bass, (I want precise bass)and the highs have to be absolutely perfect, my #1 priority is the HF sound, all else does not matter if the highs suck in any tiny way.. the midrange just has to not be thin. i like clarity.
The Rudistor and HD800 meet my needs.
Added: in general I will tolerate a lot of 'not perfect' IF the top third IS perfect. I am a high frequency nutcase. i can listen to anything if the upper end is not too damaged. In a really good system though, the highs are EVERYTHING, and without a perfect upper end, a better system is just a pile of crap no matter what else it is doing good IMO, if the top octaves are not perfect.
So if you are a high frequency crazy like me, then my opinions should matter. if the top end or HF part of the music do not matter much to you, i am not the person to look to for any advice.
I can enjoy a bit of bottom end strength, but it has to be tight, and clean, any woollyness is just not worth the bother.
I despise the way Best Buy used to have the cheap-ass car stereo booming throughout the store, and told them so many, many times. They no longer allow that in my local area anyway..
