dbpoweramp setting to make a batch all 24/96???
« on: 1 May 2011, 12:44 am »
I'm learning all this on the fly so if this is a dumb question, consider the source :green:

I got a slammin deal on a HM-602 and I need to batch convert a bunch of hi re files to 24/96 FLAC, some are already there others are higher and some may be lower (I doubt that though) so I go to convert them and I just get to choose file type and what looks like a "level #" for amount of compression and I don't see anything where I'd set bite rate etc...so what are the settings I should choose to get 24/96 FLAC files????

Are you using the Music Converter Software?  It looks like it maintains the Native Rate of the File.  Converting to AIFF allows you to set the Sample Rate and Bit Depth.  Maybe you have to do that first and then convert to FLAC. Converted a 24/96 Wave File to FLAC and the Sample Rate and Bit Depth remaind as 24/96.

Ed,
Just use the dbpoweramp batch converter (convert multiple folders at a time) and convert the FLAC files to say, wav or AIFF (at 24/88).  Then convert those back to FLAC.  You can have them converted into new folders, the same folder, or a giant 24/88 folder.  The process is only a couple of steps.

Ted you mean 24/96 right? The unit won't play 24/88 apparently....
