Quite an innovative design and very capable imaging and sound recreation, I've read several times in the past.  The tweeter pod is slightly set back for synchronized time arrival with the mid/bass driver.  It features transmission line deep bass.  Looks like it can be by-wired.

Thanks for the additional description!

Yes, it can be bi-wired.  And, yes, it is transmission line which is why the speaker can go down to 35hz with only a 6.5" driver.

FYI, this speaker is the floor standing version of the Trente.

I owned the Trente and they were excellent.  In fact, my wife liked them best out of several speakers I've owned.  I believe it was the sense of air from the tweeter.  If the Evolution 3 is similar to the Trente, but in floor standing form, they're gonna be nice.

I see you are local from your Trente ad.  Could have done a trade or something if you were in the market for floor standers.  My townhouse is too small for the Evolution.  I had the Twins and upgraded to the Evolutions then wish I kept the Twins after I moved to the townhouse.  But, got a pair of Linn Kans and works pretty well in my limited space now.

Years ago I owned the Twins.  Not the last word in transparency or air, but oh so sweet and musical!  Remember them very fondly, and based on that experience, I'd consider buying any Reynaud model.

Good luck with the sale, I'm sure it's a very nice speaker.    :thumb:

Hi Sunny:  I used to own the Twins and powered it with the Gaincard.  I had removed the Twins' cable terminal and soldered OTA speaker wire directly onto the Twins' internal wiring.  Transparency and air improved beyond belief.  I upgraded the speaker terminal to Eichmann cablepods which I think are next best thing to no terminals at all.  And, believe me, the Evolution 3 does everything the Twins do but improves in every facet except size, weight and ability to work in small spaces.  Thank you for your nice comment.

Thanks for the tidbits of info on how to eek greater transparency outta the JMR Twins.  Liked 'em so much I would definitely own them again -- for a 2nd system.      :thumb:

PS:  the Twins have a nice full rich sound, but are you saying that they sound bigger and weightier than the Evolutions?!   I'm shocked!

Got good news and bad news.  I was able to remove the sand from the speakers' enclosure.  So, willing to ship now but buyer pays for actual shipping.  Posted ad on Audigon just now.  Bad news is I flaked off a bit of the veneer during the sand emptying process.  Small pieces were already frayed but happen to catch a piece when rotating the speaker while its on carpet.  Here's a pic:

Oops.  I meant the speakers are physically bigger and weightier hence is a b*tch to move around and overpowers my 10x10x10 study which forces me to switch speakers.  Yes, English is my second language...

Walk a speaker on it's corners rotating it forward a corner at a time.   Maybe you did that, just saying.

I have no problem "walking" the speakers at my old house.  The thicker carpet at my new house caught me off guard.   :duh:
