WTB a rega or Jelco tonearm, will consider any.

Have the need for a rega or Jelco tonearm or any of the derivative remakes of them.  With cart even better, rewired or retooled ok.

I think I have a rewired 250 and a Origin Live Encounter tucked away somewhere.  I will check if you are interested.

Sure,
that sounds like two solid options.
Also considering a michell arm.

An RB300 is easier to drill for (1 hole) as opposed to the newer RB301 (3 holes). Just and FYI.

Thanks Wayner.

What is the performance difference between 300 and 301

Personally, I think they cheapened up the RB301. There has been some talk about it and some claim they like the RB300 better. If you are at all concerned about maintaining the 222mm pivot to spindle distance, a 3 hole (@120°) pattern is much more difficult to dial in then just 1 single mounting hole.

In my opinion again, I think that Rega may have screwed this one up a little.

You still have to drill the large 3/4"?? Hole first to place the tonearm base and feed the wire through. Center and measure  that hole for your 222mm and you should be good. Then drill the other 3 screw holes.

BTW, I just drilled my 3 screws through the plinth and replaced the wood screws with 6-32 X 2" Stainless screws, washers, and nuts from the hardware store about $2.95. It sounds superb! This is on an RB700 nothing cheap about it.

I understand, but the old arm was a single .875 diameter hole and then you were done with it.

I am seeing you everywhere. The 250 / 300 arm is easier to use a Michell or similar threaded adjustable VTA add on then the 301 style.
