Anyone spinning vinyl in North East Ohio that can show me the ropes, hard to find places that have good music and gear.  Would love to listen for a while, if you have the time.

I'm dead square center of the state in C,bus.     Only a couple hours from you tops.  We have a few good stores........not much dedicated to vinyl though.

Best analog dealer in the Midwest is right here in Cleveland, Andy.  Don Better is awesome if you love analog.  Call him.  Tell him I sent you please.  :)  Someday that Amadeus table may be mine; it is sweet.

Thanks Tedd,
I have only spent a few days with decent vinyl set ups.  In college I was strictly digital, but am looking for the therapeutic value that vinyl brings.  I work with gangs in Cleveland, and need something that makes sense when I am off the clock.  Too easy to bring the stress of work home with me.

It is scary to see all the things that can go wrong in an analog front end.  I will check out Don Better, only knew of Play it Again Sam in Lakewood, but only had one good Table and it was sold.  The rest were nothing special and the prices were pretty steep.

Have hopes that some locals have an extra table that they are willing to part with as to entice a 30 year old into the vinyl habit.

Any names of shops you can recommend, how do you track down analog gear and vinyl?

And Andy, my table is in perfect working order, so Don may have a nice arm/cart combo for it too.  My SOTA, although 25 years old, is built to brick sh$%house standards.  :)

Ted,
I am looking for something that is plug and play to get started.  I don't want to try to track down a table, arm, and cart separate.  I have looked at a couple of SOTA tables, but in each case the arm sold without the table and that was what was left.

In one case it was a Star for $800, had the vacuum and everything, no arm and no cart.  Just trying to keep things simple.
