This last winter we were working away on building some very high end speakers that can remain affordable, use the highest quality parts in the signal path, sold in hifi shops, and offer incredible sonic capabilities.  Last month we met our goals and released the Symphonia 7R monitor and Symphonia 72R 2.5way tower.  Clearwave now has dealer representation in Michigan and the Long Island area.  So if you would like to audition one of our speakers, contact the nearest CLD dealer.

For $4650 selling price, here are a couple pictures of the Symphonia 7R in black ash.  These come fully veneered with a lacquer finish and all mitered construction with 2" thick front baffles.  Many veneers and options are available.

Here's a recent review of the Symphonia 7R:
Quote from: pc
I have had the Symphonia 7R's for about a week, I am thoroughly satisfied. These speakers are detailed and sound like I am sitting in the front row of a concert, instruments and vocals are where they should be. The sound is clear, precise and fills the whole room. The fit and finish is top notch. I know they will only improve with time. To be honest I was a little nervous about purchasing speakers that I had not listened to, but I must say that Jed has a great product. Working with Jed has been a pleasure, he is more than happy to share his knowledge and is very good responding back to questions. With Jed's professionalism and products, Clearwave loudspeaker will be around for quite a while.

For $7200 selling price, here are a couple pictures of the Symphonia 72R 2.5 way tower in black ash lacquer finish, fully veneered fronts and angled chamfers, etc.  Many finishes and veneers are available.  Not shown are the included magnetic grills.

To read more about these speakers and more, please visit my website: www.clearwaveloudspeaker.com

My contact page at the website above lists dealers that may be in your area.  I'm also looking for representation in the Denver area and San Francisco area.

Thanks for looking, and if you have any questions just let me know!

Don't know what rooms go for at the Capital Audiofest (capitalaudiofest.com) but it is in the beginning of July.  I guess you could also try to share a room.

We are running a special on the towers with free shipping (US48) and a 10 day audition period.  I also have quite a few Accuton woofers in stock, so anyone wanting a pair of the monitors won't have to wait that long.  The 7R pair above have been sold.

We can do pretty much any veneer you would like for the next pair.  The other thing is these cabinets are made with a specialized CNC.  The actual construction of the boxes only takes a few days to complete after the panels are laid up with the veneer, because of the expensive tooling at our disposal.

Neil, one of my dealers located in Long Island, uploaded some information about the Symphonia 72R.  Feel free to give him a call about system matching and the Symphonia 72R.

My dealer in Michigan currently has the Minuet M72s available for audition.  Not the RAAL based Symphonia design, but that can be arranged as well.

Here's a few more pictures of the Minuet M72:

This is a standard flat cut maple versus the upgraded Bird's Eye posted above.  Retail is $3990.

Maestro, when you say retail, do you mean dealer retail or direct?  Could there be a difference?  Hope you will demo at The Lone Star Audio Fest in Texas next Spring.  Wherever for that matter.  If they sound as good as they look, you could be off to the races.  And if they do, it becomes all about marketing, doesn't it.  Call on Audio Concepts in Dallas.  Best wishes.  They're beautiful.  So are Selah's, btw.

Hi,

I believe that there does not need to be large markups in price when selling at retail.  So, for example, if you called up one of my retailers, they're not going to say they can do it for less than the set price (unless we have demo units available). This eliminates a lot of confusion because there is one price, and a price I feel is fair for all parties involved.  There are a few companies out there operating like this, and I think given the economic climate we're in, this is how it has to be.  Especially given the competitive nature of factory direct businesses.  The advantage here is I can rely on knowledgeable dealers to help with system matching and to provide space for auditions in various locations.  Some of my speaker kit products right now are still factory direct, but not the retail "finished line" on my website, unless it's an international order.  I don't have international distribution yet, so I'm handling those sales.

Regarding shows, it will be happening soon, as well as some reviews.  Things have been expanding at a rather rapid rate this past year in many different aspects of production within my business, so I'm taking some things slowly to make sure I really think everything through before investing thousands in advertising.  This has served me well so far.

Thank you for your kind words,

Jed

Jed, understood.  Your Clearwave's have good ingrediants and are quite appealing to look at.  Houston, where I'm at, is wanting for showrooms.  Our local Audio Concepts is missed.  Give em some encouragement via Dallas and best wishes.

In a few weeks I'll have 72R in curly cherry, 7R in mahogany, M72 in curly maple, and M7 in makore available for purchase.  Due to recent success with the launch of my new products, I've now put these speakers in production with my woodworking facility partner.   The goal will be to have speakers in stock at all times to meet demand and have product always available without a wait.  My small business just got a little bit bigger.   :)

Best Regards,

Jed

Any plans for center channels in the future (perhaps for those that can't stand a monitor upright as a center due to space limitations)?

Right now, the focus is on the current offerings, but I certainly have many prototype drawings and experience with CCs if things move in that direction down the road.  The thing is, if I design a CC, it wouldn't just be one design as people would probably want to match the Duet, Minuet, and Symphonia Series.  And from there, people might want dipole/bipole surrounds, subwoofers and pretty much every permutation in between.  Before you know it, there's dozens of different designs to choose from, just look at my Archive section of my website of past custom designs, and you'll see what I mean.

So, in my business plan I had to look at my target audience and decide which products to put into production first to create a product that people will be proud to own, but also look at supply and demand so things operate smoothly from a production and quality standpoint.  Having many different designs can be a good thing, but I'm taking a slightly different approach, so that the message to the client is that... our speaker, in this price bracket, represents what we believe to be the best sounding product on the market--and you won't have to wait several months to get it.  Also, resale will not suffer because the products won't be constantly changing every few months.

Having too many permutations of a product can confuse prospective buyers.  At CLD, the belief is that as one pays more, you get higher performance for the dollar.  This is easier said than done, and required us to research, test, and listen to many different possibilities.  The result is what we have now in the finished product line.  I've seen many companies offer too much, and then the client has to sift through all the products to decide what is the best sounding speaker for his/her application.  That can be a very confusing process.

If it ends up that people are going with other companies, because they have a product that we do not currently offer, our business plan will certainly have to be reevaluated over time.

Thanks for the compliments Bill.  And congratulations on your recent rave review of the Purity products.  It would be great to hear my speakers sing along with your products again.

Best Regards,

Jed

Thank you Jed. They are much better now as compared to what was here last time you were down here with the speakers. Maybe we need to get you into one of our products for your testing and designing . If you want go talk PM or call me.

Are you doing RMAF this year?

It may end up I go to Capital Audiofest first, since my wife's due date for our baby daughter is the end of this month.  I will likely need to be close to home for a few months.  :thumb:

So if RMAF is in my future this year, it may mean I team up with someone and send a pair of speakers or two.  We'll see what develops over the next couple weeks/months.

Are you doing RMAF this year?

I'm pleased to announce that Wyred 4 Sound has selected the Clearwave Loudspeaker Design Symphonia 72R to use with their equipment, so they will be available for audition in RM1021 at RMAF.  I hope you all get to hear them!  The pair that is going is finished in curly cherry with a solid cherry hardwood baffle attached with constrained layers of different density material for a very inert yet aesthetically pleasing cabinet.  Special show pricing will be available soon.
