Logitech squeezebox controller for iOS

You have got to be freaking kidding me! I JUST forked over $10 for the POS iPeng program only to find that today Logitech released squeezebox controller for iOS for free!. Freaking jerks. Anyway go get it it's much better and predictable than iPeng without all the stupid extra stuff that nobody uses.

Thanks for posting Pez. iPeng has worked pretty well for me, but I will definitely check out the Logitech app. Maybe think of how much money you saved by not buying a touch remote...

I consistently have issues with iPeng choosing the wrong track, not starting the track, or just doing something completely stupid. And on top of it all iPeng tries to do way too much for a remote. I don't need lyrics and a bunch of bs when I'm trying to find a song.  :duh:

Well, at first blush, the Logitech app needs some work.  For example, I'm a little baffled about how to put songs in the "playlist".  I tried to play all songs from an artist and there was no clear way how to put all the songs in the playlist (I'm using an iPad FWIW).  It would show me all the songs (alphabetically), but I didn't see how to actually play them from the app.  So, I walked over to my computer and did it in two seconds.  Heck, doing in w/ my IR remote is easier.  go figure...

To add to playlist click track and hold. Options will pop up.

Also if you want to add an entire album to playlist you click and hold the album. Same with the artist! Easy if you ask me.  :thumb:

I use the 3rd party SqueezePad app on the iPad, which I love and also cost $10.
It's probably my most used app.
Checked out the Logitech version and quite frankly it's garbage in comparison. Thank god I didn't wait for Logitech, or skimp on spending the $10.

I'd consider trying that one, what makes it better?

Ok, where are the lyrics on ipeng?  I was going to suggest that it'd be nice to have the lyrics with a tap while the song was playing.  I've never had a problem with ipeng and am surprised by your issues.

They pop up the second I click on the song. Maybe there's some setting that is on by default on my device?  either way itd be a nice feature if I could figure out how to control it, but right now it does it any time I click on a song. Very annoying. As far as my other problems with ipeng it seems as if every so often I'll definitely click on a certain song and it starts playing a different song.

I cant stand the sqeeze pad app. Maybe its me but i cant seem to add a whole album to the play list.mif you tapnthe album random songs in random order pop up. Also the trying to figure out the play list thibg is agaonizing.  Why cant you just click on a lbum and play.  Either im getting old the software is too complicated .  Should albums be added to playlists or just played in order no matter what?

It's easy, but might take a little practice.  Put your finger on the album you want and leave it there until a pop-up becomes visible, then chose play.

As someone else said - tap and hold, either a song or an album, to insert next or add to the end.

And if all your tracks are out of order it sounds like your metadata hasn't been edited properly.
A files track number in the metadata dictates it's listed order in an album.

To play an album choose to list by artist or album then choose the album you want to listen to. The next screen will show you the album art on the left and a greater then sign > on the right if you touch the > sign it'll show you the songs on the album you can choose what song to play.  If you want to listen to the whole album instead touch on the album art on the left side it should start playing the album
