There are some nice low budget speakers I want to try...the old WAF-1 monitor TCA used to sell

I have a brand new in the box pair of WAF-1 that I keep forgetting about.   :duh:

I should listen to them!

The B&W DM302's are excellent. They don't do anything badly. The better the electronics, the better they sound.

I had two pairs and still have one.  The interesting thing about the DM302 (for better or worse, but I think better), is that I think it was the only speaker in the B&W lineup at the time that had a silk soft dome tweeter.  All other models at the time had aluminum tweeters.  The replacement model DM303 had an aluminum dome, which made the line consistent without the "oddball" soft-domer.  All models since then had and have either aluminum or diamond (in the D or Diamond series) domes.

I had two pairs of the DM302 and still have one.  Efficiency wise they play a bit louder for a given input than other speakers I have that are also rated at 91dB.  A bit of a midbass bump, but still a speaker to compare other inexpensive speakers to.

Although I'm not presently using them, I haven't been able to bring myself to put the remaing pair up for sale!  They sell for ~$150 used.
