Speedy Recovery
I can see from the posts that april has been indeed a trying month for some AC'ers.   I am just relieved that everything has worked out for DJBNH's Mom and especially Klaus's son.  Wishing both of them the best and a most speedy recovery.
Life is just full of ups and downs be it young or old and  these are truly humbling experiences which show us exactly what exactly is important in life. Glad that everyone pulled through ok including djbnh and klaus!  We can all breath a sigh of relief and be thankful for the power of prayer and support of those around

Although I am not part of the Odyssey family , I "stumbled " across this thread and I must say I have seldom been so encouraged.  I  am so proud to be part of a hobby that will put its main focus on the shelf to focus on what really matters.

Thanx to all of you for the best thread I've ever read! My prayers are with DJBNH's Mom and Klaus's son.

Dear followers of this thread:

Thank you for all your prayers, emails, and PMs. I am sad to say my mom has taken a turn for the worse. Her heart is doing ok now, but her lungs have developed some serious problems as a side effect of the open heart surgery. My mom has been heavily sedated for a few days now, to try to help her out. The surgeon is going to pull her off her respirator and perform a tracheotomy this week, as well as pull her feeding tube and instead insert a tube through her abdominal wall into her stomach to feed her.

As you might imagine, the ups and downs since this all started 2 weeks ago is getting wearing on my family. I am going to leave NH today to go down to Washington, D.C. to be with my dad (and visit my mom in the hospital) for the week. I ask that you please keep your prayers and good intentions coming. May Our Lord's peace be with you all, and keep you and your respective family's in His care.

I'm saddened to hear this turn for the worse Dave, I was hoping that the weight of your burdons would have lessened by now. It's times like this that one's faith can be a mightly strong wall to lean on. Stay strong Dave and God Bless. Robin

I just read this thread.  I  haven't visited AC for awhile.  I cannot imagine what you are going through - but please know that while we do not know one another, you, your family, and your Mother are in my prayers.  I undertand your Mom's name is Dorothy - are you Dave?  Some fellow Christians are getting together this Monday to pray for my Mother in law (Mary).  For about a year, she has been in the catergory of 'breast cancer survivor'.  Unfortunately, the cancer has  reappeared in her spine and lungs.  Treatment over the past six months has not had positive results.  I know the Lord has heard my recent prayers that He touch your Mother and heal her of all health problems.  On monday, your Mother, you and you family will be in our prayers.  Please pray for Mary.  With the Lord, all things are possible.  Don

I am deeply saddened to report my mother passed away the morning of Saturday, April 24th. I would like to thank all of you for your prayers, and posts and e-mails of support. I extend the gratitude of my family as well, particularly my father, who had no idea this thread was in existence and was wonderfully touched by all the sentiments expressed.

I note my mom had a love of opera, and got to hear during one visit to my NH home how wonderfully Odyssey products reproduced the music she loved. I'm sure she's now hearing it on an even more heavenly system.

My thanks again to all, and may God's peace be with each of you.

I am very saddened to hear of your loss.  It is so painful when a parent moves on like that.  My mom and I went thru a lot when my dad passed away but it was a consolation that he was now at peace.  That said, this may be a time of many conflicting emotions but if you and your mom are strong for each other then you will see yourselves thru this time and emerge with a stronger relationship.

I remember my father fondly when I listen to jazz (esp Oscar Peterson and Dave Brubeck).  May you enjoy the same connection when you listen to opera.

All the best.

You have my sincere condolences Dave, my thoughts are with you and your family. I am not very good with words at times like this, neither in print or in person but I wanted to say something. God Bless,,,  Regards, Robin

I am very sad to learn the news, Dave.  I can picture what you and your family have been through--much of my work goes on in a cardiac intensive care unit--but I've never been in your shoes and can't truly know.  My heart goes out to you and yours.
