Hi, I have a Bryston 4BSST2 and a Lexicon 512 I am using in a home theatre 7.1 set up. The amps are located in a Middle Atlantic Rack. I currently have the 512 rack mounted below the 4BSST2 and the 4BSSt2 on a 2U shelf right on top of the 512. The rack is open on both sides, the room can reach temperatures of 30.0 Cel. after a movie is playing for 2 hours.
What the problem is after the 2 hour mark I have one of the LED's on 512 turn to a solid red. It is the 2nd light from the right side if facing the amp. After letting amp cool down for a few hours the channel comes back.
1. First of all, the red LED lights up on same light every time and shuts down this channel on the amp.
2. Lexicon 512 (9BST) feels very warm to touch, not sure how hot amp should run?
3. Have one rack space below 512 open, none above.
What can I do stop this from happening? Is this normal for amp to shut channel down? Has anyone ever had this happen before?
If I give one more space in rack above 512, hence creating one space away from 4Bsst2 will this solve problem?
Would some sort of cooling fan help more than creating space?
Any suggestions here greatly appreciated.
Cheers
