Well, Ye Old Vifa Xt18wh09-08 7" Wood Pulp Woofer met it's match.
I'll spare everyone the gory details. Let's just say it's been ages since I experienced that 'POP' after a brush of air tickles the face. It was somewhere in the middle of a SciFi scene

Darn things are impossible to find. The Peerless match might work, but I'd need 2 and who knows what it would do to Mike's crossover. I miss this place from time to time and now I miss my last great set of ACI speaks. The right speaker is still alive, but likely loose enough to retire.

Have you asked Parts Express or Orange County Speakers if they can rebuild the Vifa woofer?

Just a thought.

Mike Dzurko would say send them to Maniscus audio and they will replace it, fix it. I am sure that I spelled that wrong, PE could maybe do it, just that Miniscus is working with Mike D right now on the current stuff? Your choice.

A Big shout out to ZAW for the drivers - thank you sir. Sheer luck I checked in here a few days ago.

It was actually fun to break out a solder iron. Had to search for the darn thing. It's been years since I made my way into a speaker cab with one. Those little posts are delicate on the Vifas. Careful

Think I'll heed Mike's advice this time and 'Put A Sock In It' before I blast another SciFi Track in full range.

The old ACIs live to fight another day!!
