What makes you guys worry about TI's takeover?

Any time two giants merge, inevitably, there is an "adjustment period".  Hopefully, this one last very long; please encourage all your bosses to play nice together!

Lee,

You're quite the optimist. National has already 'retired' their principal design team for the LME4xxxx series, deciding to re-purpose their analog efforts toward the new opportunities in energy. Some of the best di-Fet fabbed chips became obsolete when Ti swallowed Burr Brown. There will be significant layoffs of pesky, costly engineers of 45+, and rationalizations of product lines. This is expected by the shareholders, and implicit in the merger. The economic clout of the analog circuit audio industry is simply not material.

FWIW,
Paul
