For sale is my Cary Cinema 11. This is a multichannel solid state preamplifier / surround sound processor which decodes most, if not all, audio formats other than the more recent formats that appear on Blu-ray. I use my Oppo to decode those. This is an audio-only unit.
The unit is in excellent condition, both operationally and physically. It is an outstanding sounding unit and it does a great job with both two- and multi-channel sources.

The innovative new Cinema 11 surround sound processor is designed for the videophile that has a high performance video system with either an external video scaler or has a DVD player that can offer high resolution video directly to the video display or projector in the home cinema system. The Cinema 11 has an AM/FM tuner, features auto signal sensing and has RCA and XLR balanced connections.It offers 8 sets of inputs on the rear panel. Input number One is either a balanced digital input or an analog XLR stereo input pair. These balanced inputs can be set to BYPASS for pure stereo reproduction or they can be set to process the incoming signal for surround sound playback. Inputs number Two through Eight are either Toslink digital, coaxial digital or RCA stereo analog inputs. The Cinema 11 has remote turn on triggers for power amplifiers or other devices. It features IR and RS 232 port inputs and discrete command codes for infrared Discrete IR and RS 232 command codes for custom installations.
AV Synch circuit for video signal synchronization in custom installations. The second zone outputs and the 7.1 RCA analog outputs are highlighted by a white surrounding to clearly distinguish them from the RCA inputs. Second zone operation offers a digital output and an RCA stereo analog pair of outputs.Sound decoding modes off ered are Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS NEO 96/24 and the music modes from both Dolby and DTS.
The front panel has a headphone jack for private listening that offers the Dolby Headphone circuit for private playback of your favorite movies or music in surround sound. All set up functions are shown in the front panel display to make set up without an external video display easy.
