Raysonic CD 128 DIY repairs
« on: 3 Apr 2011, 09:38 pm »
Hi guys
First my Krell SACD...Now my Raysonic,...And the audio world wonders why we bitch.
Honestly,if I had alot of time on this player I would not wine, but it has little time on it..
Here is the problem: the start up reading procedure does not spin disc and therefore says"""" error..no disk."""".I have been in contact with Raysonic and they say servo board or laser,So I have both coming.
Is this an easy change and has anyone done it?
thanks john

No, but I have a Raysonic 128, I like it a lot and hope I don't have to change one.
That's a Sony Laser Assembly, good they are available. Let us know how that goes.
Can you PM me the cost of that? I may order as an extra.

I am not sure the cost?I have a new player that I had for  1.15yrs but I have very little time on it as I work away from home and also used a Krell SACD for the .75 of that time.So I find it odd that it has stopped working properly?.

Has no one opened one of these up?
thanks

Have you tried carefully cleaning the laser lens? It is wide open and could be a bit dusty? I would try that. Q tip and distilled water not soaked of course.

I have had my 128 for about 3 yrs.....lots of use, no issues (Knock on wood)

Never opened it up......lots of internal pics on the 6moons review.

Keep us informed of how it goes please......thx
