Chime accepts 24-bit data via S/PDIF?
« on: 2 Apr 2011, 07:37 pm »
I'm thinking of building a Chime, and was wondering if anyone can confirm that the Chime can accept 24-bit data (i.e. 24/44.1 audio) via S/PDIF?

The website isn't clear on this, but looking at the schematic for the HAGDAC, I'm pretty sure that the DF1704 is configured to receive 24-bit data, which means that anything the S/PDIF receiver can accept gets passed on.

(I realize it can only accept 16/44.1 audio via USB.)

There's more and more 24/44.1 audio floating around these days, so this seems like a nice bonus if it works.

No, CHIME does not do anything except redbook CD (44.1k/16).
