Well, looks like my NAS won't recognize these drives and I waited too long to try them out so I can no longer return them, so I'm offering them here.  $150 each, or $275 for the pair.  I have done nothing more than try to install these in my NAS, and they have no data on them at all.  I still have the original shipping box (for a pair of drives).

These are the new drives from Hitachi:

2.0TB Hitachi 7K3000 7200RPM SATA I/II HD with 64MB Cache. Energy Efficient Performance
Serial ATA 3.5" Hard Drive.

Will cover shipping in lower 48 and paypal fees if my price is met.

Thanks,

Jim

*** Note: $200 for the pair, shipped in conus and no paypal fee to the buyer -- just posted the full specs below and I see these discounted at most places for $140 - $125.

Can you further elaborate on which "7K3000 Series" drives these are?

There is the consumer-grade Deskstar (HDS723020BLA642) and the Enterprise-grade Ultrastar (HUA723020ALA640/641) yet both are "7K3000 Series".

These are the ones that are normally $200, but I will verify that when I can get my wife to look at the labels.  If they aren't, then I got ripped of :-).

Ok, they are the deskstr series and here are the specs:

Hitachi
2.0TB Hitachi Deskstar™ 7K3000
Enormous capacity and 7200 RPM performance for desktop storage
Big storage paves the way for new platforms
The Deskstar™ 7K3000 is Hitachi's first hard drive to deliver an enormous two terabytes
of storage capacity and 7200 RPM performance in a standard 3.5-inch form factor.
The 7K3000 is also the first Hitachi hard drive with a 6Gb/s SATA interface, which
along with its 64MB cache buffer delivers a big boost to performance over the previous
generation product. The Deskstar 7K3000 is designed to allow manufacturers to leverage
the benefits of the latest components and operating systems to deliver high-performance,
high-capacity, power-efficient systems.
Excellent performance and energy efficiency
The Deskstar 7K3000 delivers an extraordinary blend of capacity, performance and
power efficiency. All capacities will ship with 64MB cache buffer and 6Gb/s SATA
interface. This configuration shows an improvement of up to 27% over previous generation
products in PCMark Vantage testing scores. In addition, the 2TB 7K3000 offers idle
power savings of up to 30% over previous generation products, making it an ideal
storage platform for desktop computing. Leveraging eighth-generation power management
technology, including power- saving innovations like HiVERTTM technology, this drive
delivers excellent power efficiency and thermal emissions to help manufacturers meet
energy compliance targets and extend drive life.
Eco-friendly storage
The Deskstar 7K3000 demonstrates Hitachi ecological leadership with its halogen-free
design and power-efficient operation. Both these features helped qualify the drive
for the Hitachi EcoTrac classification, which identifies products that minimize environmental
impact in the areas of product design, manufacturing, operation and disposal.
