Sous vide turnips!

Okay, I know the rules...no pics means it didn't happen! :lol:  But honestly, it looked just like any other turnip.  But oh my, the flavor! :o  I've always liked turnips but I've never had one this freakin' good!  All I did was peel it and slice it into 1/2" slices or so, then salt & seal with a bit of butter.  Into the bath they went, 185o F for 45 minutes.  They were simply sublime!  No trace of the mild "radish" taste you sometimes get, and the texture was remarkable.  I was surprised by how delicate the flavor was.  It really tasted almost like a potato.

The next step?  To mash some!:thumb:
