But why would anyone get a Rega arm, even modified, when a Jelco SA-750D is a better arm at a better price?

But isn't the Jelco mounted at 214/215? Wouldn't be a drop-in replacement then.

hallo,

rega and VPI, and Graham use 222mm mounting distance.
so no, it is not a drop in replacement.
the Jelco is ok, but i would take a Rega RB700 over one.
then again i would buy the Graham Robin instead.
it is a Jelco derivative but many improvements and the correct length.
the Jelco SA 370 is the same mounting distance as the Rega/VPI
besides, i prefer the lighter tonearm.
