I have three preamps with separate power supplies.
An Audio Research Sp-15
A VAC Standard
And a Bryston BP-26
I would like to make new cords for them. The one thing i would do is twist pairs of plus/minus voltage wires together. And separate the others with some extra insulation. So the different voltages would be a bit apart.
When i built a computer, i took all the power supply chain and did that.
I just do not want to take the originals apart. So i would need to find spare connectors that match the ones in the equipment now.
Added: I have been playing with a nono contact voltage detector (Greenlee GT-16 $21) and the Bryston power connector from the power supply to the BP-26 is not shielded. I would definitely make it shielded. and shielding the different voltges from each other might be worthwhile?
Even placing a tinned copper sleeve over the cable would be helpful.
