Super Pas-3 or all most?

Take a look at this one. Some how this looks like some one was been playing around with the caps and some other stuff in there? That does not look like some thing Frank would build?

Thanks for the heads up on this unit.

I sent the seller a note saying"

>>Since this preamplifier is NOT a stock AVA Super Pas Three (it contains many modifications and non-standard parts never supplied or authorized by AVA) I would appreciate it if you would please note these facts in your for sale comments.  I would consider your selling it as a stock AVA Super Pas Three to be fraudulent and deserve reporting to e-bay.

Frank Van Alstine<<

a Modified Audio by Van Alstine AVA . To me it's still misleading, people may still think it's modified by Frank. If a product has been deviated from Frank's original design, then, Frank's name should not be attached to the product for quicker sale sake.

But legally, I don't see how you can make him to correct it.

Maybe we can get him on "a modified Audio by Van Alstine Dynaco Pas 3 is still just a modified Dynaco Pas 3."

I regonize his pictures, he tries to sell it on Audiogon too.

I have notified the seller again, his changes to the adv. are not good enough.

Claiming a product to be something that it no longer is is consumer fraud.  It is OK to rework a product and sell it as a reworked product, but not as the original product any more.  He claims it is a Super Pas Three.  It no longer is after the obviously terrible rework.

Looks like some poor soul bought this Modified Dynaco Pas 3 from him, obviously whoever bought it didn't do enough research to identify how a Super Pas 3 should be.  :duh:

It "ended" too quickly, "Ended" probably just meant that the guy pulled the listing.

Not the same person, unless he has two accounts....and it was bought, not pulled.

I know this is not a Super PAS-3 or a Super PAS-2? Looks old.
I like what he said, modified by someone named Frank Van Alstine

It might have been Frank's first Super Pas prototype that he threw in the garage 32 years ago. One off. Just kidding of course.

From what I understand the very early Super Pas, the mod was done right on the original Dyna circuit board, no new selector switch, or new jackset. But the Noble switches should have been there. (all the early Super Pas I've seen had them).

The hand written label with Sharpie, only Frank can verify that.

I am just considering myself lucky for getting that SuperPas 3 with one regulated power supply, listening to it right now with Mark Knopfler playing. Great sounding, one off Super Pas 3.
