Looks like an improved version of the Studio 100 v2. Maybe they bought the design from Paradigm.:P

Maybe, but they probably added improvements since the pricetag is north of $40,000. I think they're in a bit different league than the Paradigm's

I noticed the woofers aren't very big. So, how's the bass on those?

Good-bye Kef's and hello Proac.

These are my new Proac Carbon Pro 8's mated up to a pair of Bryston 28B-SST2 and all I can say is this is a match made in heaven.  The detail and realism is amazing and I now have bottom end that I can feel, which was lacking in the Kef's.  Kudo's to Proac for creating such a wonderful speaker.

I don't hear of anyone talking about or owning Proac around here, but I recommend giving them a listen if you have a chance and I'm certain you won't be disppointed.

The speakers are finsihed in Ebony with a high gloss finish.  I'm not usually a fan of high gloss finishes, but on these speakers with this wood, they are gorgeous.

I have some sound treatments in the form of bass traps for the corners being made and looking forward to getting them installed to increase the listening pleasure even more.

A close-up showing the hand-laid carbon fibre weave that makes the cone.

Next up is BDP-1 to finish things off for a little while...

Wayne.

WBimmer, congrats!   :thumb:

I heard the pairing of 28B and these ProAc speakers at a local audio show back a couple of months, then listened again in a showroom last week when I went pick up my BDA-1.  Awesome indeed.

The setups were with speakers further into the rooms than what you have, yet the soundstage can go way way back.

Yes, these are the same ones.  I'm told they were the first CP8's in Canada, but that might just be salesman talk...

I'm extremely happy with them.

Too bad you bought the Kef 207's because I have a pair of 205's for sale.  Any chance you need another pair of speakers for another room??

Wayne.

WBimmer,

They're made by Sanus, http://www.sanus.com/ca/en/products/av-foundations/av-euro/EFAB-II

They fit perfectly and they match the Bryston very nicely.  I think I paid about $125 per stand.
