YES!!! No more 1 game CBS coverage with constant breakaways into another game with 30 seconds to go , and with 4 games being shown at 1 time with this type of "all in 1 channel" coverage. After a 28 year monopoly, CBS has finally given up it's claim on the Tournament and opened the door to Turner Broadcasting. For the 1st time, there will be 4 channels covering ALL 4 GAMES in their entirety.  :hyper:

CBS
TBS
TNT
TRUTV

And also for the 1st time, the tournament has been expanded to 68 teams from last year's 65. March Maddness continues to get bigger & better IMHO. Enjoy the Tournament.  :thumb:

Kansas is the only team I follow.  I think their games are always show 100% of the time.

Well it's a given now.  :thumb:  This expanded coverage was all new to me,,, just found out about it today. I'm a Georgetown Hoya fan but there are always other teams that I'd like to watch in the tourney, like the Vermont Catamounts from my home state. If they make it to the big show this year, I'll finally be able to catch their whole game. While this remains to be seen, at least I know know their game will be shown if they can win their lesser known Conference title next week.   :D

This is one reason why we installed a 55" HDTV in our conference room at work. :thumb: Lots of parity this year with no clear cut favorite. I love this time of year. March Madness is a great way to launch spring.

I love March Madness.  I don't believe that the field should have been expanded to 68, but it is a done deal now.  The aditional TV coverage is welcomed!!

GO CARDS!!

Best,
Ed

Bracketology time.

Will 11 teams from Big East really make the tourney?

What is the record for most from a conference?

Play The (Cow)Herd Rock Band Bracket.

Check out the seedings and the 8/9 matches:  Motley Crue vs. Weezer; The Allman Brothers vs. The White Stripes; The Clash vs. Outkast and Def Leppard vs. Earth, Wind & Fire.

It is one of my favourite times of the year. I played BBall in HS and at uni and have to record the games here in the UK (I am from the US) and at my house it is all about March madness. A great sporting event! I love it. I have been to U Kansas games in the house of Naismith, Big East Games and many Big 12 games. Bring it on

Here's the projected TV coverage breakdown for the tournament, subject to last minute change. For those who don't know this, Trutv is a new Turner Broadcast actual reality specialty channel.  :thumb:

David,

I have been following Big 8 and Big 12 B-ball (I wish it was still the Big 8 ) since my undergrad days at Mizzou in the mid-late 60's. As much as it pains me to admit it, Allen Field House is one of the best, if not THE best, college basketball atmosphere's in America. Beware of the Phog is right.

I have spent 2 years at Kansas and NEVER went to a game....too much of a hassle to stand in line etc...but when it was playing, the campus was always electric.

Their best teams long after I left.  Jayhawks all the way.   :thumb:

Well the Vermont Catamounts lost in their Conference semi's so no big show appearance for them this year. But they will make an appearance in the NIT.  8)

The ONLY NCAA team I've ever seen play has been the Georgetown Hoyas who's home games I saw back in 1969 when I was in the Army stationed at Ft Belvoir, Va. I loved their style of play and have followed them ever since. While the Hoyas had a good season, I don't feel they have the team discipline to make a deep run in the Tournament. But you never know,,,,,

And then there's always a Cinderella team that comes outta nowhere and those are the games no one ever gets to see,,,,, til this year. Last year it was Butler who came up 3 points shy of what would have been a huge upset of Duke for the NCAA title. I for one am super excited to see the early games, always looking for that upset from an unknown team. I just hope it's not Georgetown that gets upset early.  :duh:

Actually last years Final was a 2 point spread with Butler taking the potential winning shot at the buzzer but missing. Duke 61 Butler 59

There's an app on iTunes for iphone and ipad for the entire tourney on your devices...yesterday I watched bits and pieces of all of them on my iPhone.

For free!

Thanks Robin. In some respects I am glad the season is over. Unlike most Mike Anderson coached teams, this one did not get better as the tournament approached. They peaked in late December when they blew out ODU. They couldn't win on the road. Based on comments coming from columbia, there appears to be some internal issues that need to be addressed and fixed this summer. Lots of talent and only one senior so they will be back. About the only thing that could ease the pain of the way the season ended (last 7 games), is for the mythical birds of the prairie to be the first #1 seed to lose to a #16.  Go Terriers!

Good luck to your Hoyas tonight
