Candela gain imbalance
« on: 5 Mar 2011, 06:17 am »
Greetings - I've been an occasional lurker over the last few years but not much of a "post-er"
I've have a concern with my Candela for a while now... Serial# 3105. Purchased  5 years ago along with Stratos Mono Extremes. For the most part I've been really pleased but about a year ago I noticed the gain in the right channel was quite a bit less than the left channel.
I have eliminated the source and the Stratos monoblocks and cabling as causes
and have tried three different sets of tubes over the last year or so.
Any suggestions? I'm frustrated and wanting to make a change.
Thx for any help/advice.

Hello Rob,

Welcome to the circles. Please send me by PM your phone number and best time to call so we can further trouble shoot and take care of your problem. Have you swap your speaker (with the amps off) cables and see if the problem moves to the other channel?

Thank you.

Alex

Hi Alex, thanks for the response.
I'm certain that I have swapped speaker cables at some point over the last year, but to be honest I can't be certain so will test that when I am back in town.
As for the offer for a phone call - a conversation would be great, but I can't seem to access your profile to send a PM ... And "My Messages" does not show a "New Message" option.
Apparently this newbie has very few privileges. WTF?

Registration agreement.

Fair enough John. I understand the need to have some filters here to protect the community
but is there somewhere that I need to acknowledge and accept the registration agreement??
If not, how long is the "probationary period"?
