This thread jars my memory of me working in a CD factory a long time ago... we used this stuff called Aquapel to coat & protect the stampers for storage. I bet it would be perfect for vinyl. Once it dried, it generally peeled of in one large piece. It was applied on a spinning wheel, I think an old crappy plastic deck w/ 78rpm would do the trick.

You can buy Aquapel in small tubes on Amazon and at auto parts stores.  They sell it in applicator packs for making your windshield bead up in the rain.  Just put some on my car.

I'd want to know what's in it before I put it on a vinyl record though.

We put the stuff on thick and by the gallons, I don't think a small tube would cut it. I may try it with a crappy record when I get home.
