I just love discussing this kind of stuff.  So lets step up to the plate and start naming them.  Any musical category, any era.  How about a top ten for each of us who cares to post.

Tough one, as there are many I respect and enjoy, you know the usual suspects.
But off the top of my head just to name a couple.

1. Miles Davis (Musical Genious)

2. Charles Mingus (Musical Genious)

3. John Coltrane (Made some music that really moved me from the inside
out.  Made some music I am still not mature enough to approach.)

4. A kicker...Tori Amos (I simply have not felt as deeply connected to an artist through music as with this woman, totally unexpected but what a raw and emotional introspective outpouring {earlier works especially}.  I went to a concert here and there, talk about sticking out like a sore thumb.  Every young woman should own "Little Earthquakes."
