Internal DVD Writer Question?
« on: 17 Feb 2011, 03:42 pm »

I just ordered a TEAC DV-W524GSBKEUBT internal DVD Writer.

More on this model here: http://www.teac.com/data_storage/slim_and_desktop_dvd-rw_drives/dv-w524gsbkeubt/

Previously I had received feedback on Plextor being the way to go. More recently I've seen concerns about current Plextor optical drives not being what they used to be. Based on a 'preference' for Teac by dBpoweramp, I went with this drive.

My question is about the quality of the Teac optical drives in general, and in the off chance that anyone has the model I picked up, about its performance in particular.

Also, generally speaking, will a component like this Teac provide sound quality improvements over the stock optical drives that came with my Dell pc? This is my first foray into "upgrading" an optical drive.

Thanks,

- David.
