That is a good article: Good for consumers of hi-fi and good for Bryston. And good for Hifi News.
Bryston deserves all the attention they can get for their 20 years warranty.
Moreover, I salute James (and Bryston) for being active on this forum and spending much time on answering all kinds of questions related to Bryston products. That is exemplary service.

Keep up the good work.

I REALLY don't like when things don't do what they should for at least a reasonable amount of time despite positioning themselves as quality products. My first Bryston piece was a BCD-1 which replaced an over-priced piece of crap which shall remain unnamed
( :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:ARCAM!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: )

so reliability is a big issue for me. Since then I went Bryston with my amps too and I'm a happy Diamond Dog. Which is good.
Happy is good.

What's a reasonable amount of time do you think?

On a CD player because it incorporates moving parts, I'd be looking for 8-10 years in moderate usage because after all, they are using only the finest components available, you understand. Otherwise, we'd all be getting our gear at Wally-Mart for $99.97 wouldn't we. In a solid state piece like a power amp, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a much longer service life although many members of Audio Circle switch up gear much sooner. I'm not so much about the gear as about the music so I don't flip gear constantly.

i gather you had a CD-36 or 37?  What went wrong?  Just curious, I've had a CD-36 (in my second system) since they were first introduced.
