Another Room Thread - What to Install?

I have a room that measures

W - 13'-6" x L - 28'-6"    (The width has a cutout that extends to 17'-6" on the end)

Problems:

Room sound a little bit too live.  The biggest problems are a midrange coherency and timing.  Also the Midrange is less "Bright" something that all audio note systems have that makes them addictive.

Greg P,

You very likely have "hot" early reflections (reflections that are within 10-15 dB of the direct arrival within the first ~20ms).  For some reason, your jpeg's are not opening.

If possible, post an overhead diagram showing basic, dimensions and features (include the height).  That could help reveal likely causes of your concerns.

I am also having problems opening up your file. If you can't get them to post then email them to me and I will get it to work for you.

Trying again to post the pictures.  As you can see the window is one issue I know I can put some custom curtains, (my company makes them), but looking at where else to start.

The corner behind the TV would be a great place for some broadband bass control.  You'll minimize the lopsided boundary gain from that side as well as kill any resonances between the TV and the walls.

What about hanging the tv over the fireplace to remove some dead space behind the current tv.  WAF maybe involved if any.

On the fireplace thing.  Ehhh no(thanks for the suggestion though), I can't stand tv's above fireplaces, and the height screws up your viewing angle.

Here is a drawing of my Room The picture with the Window/Door = WALL A
Also posting another picture of the opposite view toward the kitchen.  Now that you can see there is not place for Room Treatment here.

I'm just not seeing a ton of places that you can actually mount treatment in general.

The places I would suggest:

Left corner as previously mentioned

Move the pictures and get some absorption on the wall behind the seating positions.

Do whatever you can on the ceiling anywhere in the room to compensate for the live floor and live kitchen.

Here is a shot from behind the couch.

1. Brian should I put one more Tri-Trap in the back? Thoughts
2. I was thinking of putting 2 242 Acoustic Panels on each side of the pictures. Thoughts?
3. Should I Stack the Trip-Traps 2 high behind the tv and the opposing wall where the pictures are?

Stacked Tri Traps behind the TV.

Move the pictures and use a pair of 244's centered behind the seating.
