Compiling music from CD to DVD-/+R

Copied from the Square Circle:

Some time back we had a discussion here on how to get wave files onto a DVD. Now a company has software to not only do that, but record it at any bit rate from 16-24 bit and upsample it to 96 or 192 kilohertz! They offer a free trail (I'll probably download it tonite or tomorrow). They also claim their software upsampling sounds better than the CD does with an upsampling player.

Check it out here: http://www.eximius.nl/

Here's link to a short blurb about it , too: http://www.stereophile.com/news/031504pcaudio/

BTW, how much is 50 Euros?

From reading the site, the one thing I'm still a little murky on is whether or not this is stand-alone software or an add-on to an existing program.  What does it look like to you?

I'm not really figuring out how it's supposed to work yet.  I'll try a bit more later tonite.  It appears to not be entirely self contained- you do need to use your own burner to actually burn to DVD.  They mention Nero as working with the DVD+Audio prog, and I have Nero 6 so I should be good there.

The website says that upsampled to 24/96 you get about 2 hours of audio.  Which will rock if I can figure out how to use it!   :banghead:

This topic more or less got picked up in the Square Circle.  The short version- WOW! :o   Very cool!  The upsampling feature is a bit variable; some things don't sound any better, but some things are friggin' stunning!   I'm still dinking around with the trial version so far, but I'll probably buy the full version pretty quick.
