Thanks. Just ordered one. So, in theory, there are 2 left.

Cool. Hope it works out for you. I've ordered many things from eCost.com and I've never been disappointed with their service so far. I really like the fact that they offer free shipping on all orders over $25. In my experience they ship pretty quickly, too.

I've had good service from them before too, but their stock indicator is a scam to get you to buy. I had been watching it before for a pair of sennheiser headphones and the stock just went 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. They want you to think there's only a few left so you hop on the deal.

But when they have the little picture of the truck, you're outta luck. I've never managed to get anything that they said was out of stock.

I've had a PowerWave on backorder for over 3 weeks. At the time of order, stock was 'scheduled' on the website to be received within 4/5 days. What they recently have listed as stock represents a few units that fall far short of their current backorder list. When I have called to talk with them, they have been helpful and straightforward about the number of people waiting and the numbers that they are receiving. Hope I get one soon.

I'd kinda like to get one or two more, too. I was thinking of trying them out biamping my Monitor Audio Bronze 3's in my bedroom system.

Bi-amping

How are you going to go about biamping with them. Will you be using the USB method or what? Please explain since the idea sounds good to me as well.

No, I was thinking a simple pair of Y-adapters using the line level (RCA) inputs. I have a Denon CD player & a Phillips CD player in my bedroom, and both have a variable line volume output. I don't have a spare preamp laying around and I hate to buy one just to experiment with the little TriP's.
I've biamped my MA's before with good results, and that seems especially wise in light of the relative low power of the Powerwave (at least compared to amps I've used in the past).
I'm really not sure how you'd biamp with the USB output. I guess you'd have to hook each one up to a different USB port, or maybe you could use a hub somehow? Or maybe a hub would only let the signal pass to one device... No, I think if two USBs had Griffins on em you could likely use em to biamp. Just a guess, though. Maybe some of the Computing Big Brains in the Square Circle would give you a better answer.

I just checked my order status and it indicated the unit was backordered. If you check the website via the link above, it now indicates 2 left. A little shady.

1. biamping is even easier than using y-connectors because the pwave has output jacks (which I'm currently using to drive a sub).
2. e-cost has gone from my fave to my least fave internet cheapo merchant. I bought a refurb sony dvd player which arrived with no digital audio output and they place every obstacle they can in your way before you can return it. first you need to get an auth code from Sony USA. Then they say they'll send you a return code via e-mail. Only they 'forgot'. Then, to top it off, they won't pay for any shipping even though the item is defective. Their shenanigans with the powerwave price also suck. I'm glad I found the thing at a local store. It still sounds incredible by the way, actually even better now that I'm driving it with analog audio.

Actually, I owe ECost an appology. When I checked my order status the next day, it indicated that my order shipped. It arrived today. Now it has a pretty noticable hum that seems to be related to the power cord connection to the unit. When I wiggle the connector, the hum will change in volume. Do your power connectors fit flush to the body? The overall case is pretty cheap but what do you expect for $100?

Chris,
Sounds like a bad ground connection somewhere or else the power supply DC isn't really DC. A couple quick checks...
Plug the powerwave's AC adaptor into a socket on another circuit.
Use one of those cheap AC testers to see whether you may have a bad AC ground. It's amazing how often this occurs
Try another wall wart which outputs DC on the pwave if you've got one lying around (check plug polarity too) and see if that fixes it. If so the power supply is at fault I think.

I had a very loud hum from my PW and adjusted IC's and cables to help. Then, upon Wayne's (Boulder) suggestion, I got a $19.95 Pyle dc addapter from Parts Express with a connector kit for $3.95. That has done a lot to curing the hum. I have 92db speakers and I have to lean down to hear it.
Splurge the $31 for the adapter, plugs, and shipping. You won't regret it.
You can check further PW developments on the Boulder Forum.

I was able to find another 12VDC power adapter and it fits close to perfectly. The noise is down to very quiet tweeter hiss and the hum is gone.
Check out the fit of the connector that came with the unit. This is a picture with it seated as far as it will go. No wonder it caused a hum.
Now I need to run the amp for 10+ hours.
