Well, that'd work too! LOL  Don't ya just love the way a small change in English makes a LOT of difference in the perceived meaning.

I believe we had fourteen folks stop in, with a lot of good music, stories, and munchies added to the mix. The Fultons actually worked the entire time as well, so they did not embarrass. It was a lot of fun.  :D

It was a lot of fun and a bunch of great listening (to speakers and music/hi-fi related topics).
Thanks a bunch Dave, it is always interesting.
Those Fultons were a very pleasant speaker.  Fulton obviously knew how to use those electrostatic elements vastly better than 90% of the manufacturers back then.  If you every decide to write out the schmatic of that assemblege, it would be interesting to look at.

Lisa and I had a great time hanging out with everyone.  I still don't understand the Fulton's crossover scheme.  Does the FMI 80 bookshelf run full range on top even when you add the stats? The bass was understated for such a large cabinet and had a nice tight pop in your room.  I really liked the Fultons sound on the bluegrass cd we were listening to right before Lisa and I left.  Good score on them and a great price.

After some digging, the crossover point for the bass enclosure is 83 Hz, and for the RTR6 high pass filter, via its own filter network is 7500 Hz. The amp  goes in to the tower at the lower woofer screw plate, with a daisy chain then going to the RTR electrostats.
A single RCA bridges to the upper screw plate, which is then fed to the FMI80. I assume there is a simple resistor set to reduce the low freq. content to the two series connected tweeters, which would be allowed to naturally roll off.

For further confusion here is the woofer crossover, sure to induce nightmares.

Now you can see why I am so surprised they not only sounded good, but close to great at their wheelhouse of recordings. If I moved them towards the wall, I could improve the bass, but at the degradation of a little clarity with the electrostats. Where I had them for the gathering seemed to be the best tipping point for retaining enough bass without creating a strong delayed high end.

I'm wondering if it would be worth pursuing a pair of J Modular woofsie cabinets, which supposedly has markedly better bass at all positions. Any opinions?
