GAS gathering - Feb 19 at 2:15 in south county

With all the snow and ice on the ground, what better to get our minds off something bad and on something fun! Would Saturday or Sunday be better for the majority?

I am looking at running the JBL modded 1963 KHorns with a Marantz 8B tube amp, JuicyMusic Blueberry tube preamp, and cds.

The second system would be a pair of Fulton Modular F speakers from the mid 70s, with a McIntosh MX110 tube preamp and an Audio Research Corporation D115 tube amp.

I'm puttering around right now, reorganizing and sorting the cd collection, so we will actually be able to find a single album this time around.

Are alot of folks off on Monday for President's/Washington's Birthday? Monday is my birthday and the SoIL gives us that day off. For the president thing, not my birthday. BTW, Washington's birthday is the 22nd. Thought I would state that before I was cyberly corrected.

Will let you know if I can make it or not after I check the wife's schedule for me.

Unfortunately, while our eight year old son is off from school, my wife is working at the hospital, and I am digging dirt at the airport. If you want to hear a lot of Disney songs on Monday, Liam will be happy to oblige. Just avoid the pizza.

Come on guys, I'm trying to get a feel for which day we should go...we have a busy schedule between the satanic cult coming in, the Star Trek leper colony, and the Witches of Eastwick movie reenactment. We gotta know...

For me, Saturday the 19th is better. Always have rehearsals on Sundays and couldn't make it. Hearing the Fultons sounds yummy.

I'd really like to be able to join you guys up their in St. Louie during one of these gatherings. I keep looking for the next one that fits my schedule, but once again, I'm gonna miss this one.

I will be traveling on the east coast to visit family... a road trip in February!

Keep your fingers crossed on the "snow factor." Meanwhile, we'll have to have you all down here in S. Illinois sometime this year. Happy listening. Tell Mark and Scott they can bring "Maggot Brain," just so long as they wear diapers.

Hey Din, not funny. I'm too close to "adult diapers" as it is.

But, I gotta admit some George Clinton outfits would spice up any gathering...

Can't wait for another trip to south Illinois. I had such a good time and my ears have recovered from Scott's Lincoln.

Din, the mothership has landed!

The DAC is doing well, Bob. It has been in and out of the main system, and handled things well.

I do have some more vintage goodness that recently arrived from the East coast, although the amp is going to need some work. I need to find a couple 6BR8A tubes, if you have any in your box of glass thingies. Here they are...

We will have it on Saturday, Feb. 19, starting at 2:15 in the afternoon. I haven't found any 6BR8as yet Joe...they are the same as 6FV8s, and are an old ham tube.

I have almost finished the monumental task of finding, alphabetizing, and splitting all the CDs in the house.

I finished getting the Fultons in good fighting shape last night, and we may just keep them on the Monarchy SM70 Pros for a while - they sound pretty sweet.

With the footing, I don't think we will have a major garage sale, but trunks filled with goodies are always welcomed.
