Back to topic,,,, you have the new tung sols so you have a good idea of what the modern "dynamic" tube sounds like in your amp. Maybe your amp is not everything you want it to be? Just a thought.

[Syrah]

I've compared about 4 or 5 different 6sn7 in my Supratek Syrah pre.  I favor a dynamic sound too.  My two favourites are the Tung Sol and the Black Treasures.   The BT have a bit more nuance and a more refined sound, but I'd have to say they are equally dynamic.  The TS are a no brainer for the price.  Definitely the law of diminishing returns going up to the BT.
