Restoring an Oracle Delphi

I'm hoping that the experiences of this group's members might help me with these issues.

I'm attempting to bring my Oracle Delphi I/II (serial #4675) turntable back to life. Years ago, I replaced most of the aluminum parts with the "Perfectionist Engineering" delrin parts, including the bearing. At the time, the technician said that the lubricant was very special because of the materials used in this bearing.

My first question is: What lubricant is safe to use in this bearing? I would like to do no harm, since I already shorted out the Lambda regulated power supply that I once used for this turntable.

That leads to my second question: Is there a reliable place that repairs industrial power supplies? While adjusting the power supply, I accidentally touched the part labeled "M 2N2405 252". This resulted in a big spark and a blown fuse. I've replaced the fuse, but it's not working. Obviously I've done more damage than that.

Thanks in advance.

The 2N2405 is a transistor made by Motorola, (the M). You may have taken it out with your fiddling. You should be able to obtain a new one and replace it.

Thanks Wayner and Paul. I've ordered the transistor and connected with Jacques Riendeau at Oracle through Paul's link. Jacques suggestion was to "clean the bearing with Isopropilic Alcohol then use a light synthetic oil" So I've just ordered the oil, but in the mean time I set up the arm and cartridge and have the table running by using the stock power supply.

The arm is a Signet XK 50 which was original to the table. The cartridge is a Soundsmith Boheme. As is it sounds great.

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

The transistors are heat sensitive, so you will have to heat sink the leads (on the top side of the board) when you solder the leads (on the bottom side of the board). They must go in exactly the same way.

Interesting...

I used to own that particular vintage Oracle with a Signet arm on it.

I had a Dynavector Ruby on mine. It was a great sounding combo.

Just out of curiosity, where did you originally buy this table?
