VR5SE Anniversary - For Sale
« on: 27 Jan 2011, 12:59 pm »
So moved into my new place in London and yes, unfortunately the VR5s are too big for the room.

Im now in the situation where I need to let them go and downsize.

The speakers are around 2 years old, very little use and finished in beautiful and expensive Steinway Piano Black.

Price wise, I'm just looking for fair Market value.

Speakers are located in London, England, I'm happy to demo to seriously interested people and shipping worldwide can be arranged.

Ping me an email if interested..... :thumb:

Thanks
Jon

You bet he does.  I've owned a pr. for nearly 2 years now and speaker upgrading is permanently off the table  :thumb:

Hi
On the contrary, it's better to have BIG speakers in a small room than small speakers in a BIG room.
Thanks

Yeah you know what, i dont think i am going to sell after all.

I have spent a long time getting my system sounding the way i want it, so why go and turn back the clock now!?

Experimenting with headphones at the moment, and not being happy with the sound has reminded me of the hours and hours and of course money spent on trying and changing hi-fi components until i found the great sound i have now!  It was hard work!

Think i will remain a VS owner for the time being - plus you guys are so nice!  :thumb:

....unfortunately the VR5s are too big for the room...or the room is too small for your VR5s   We really are a nice bunch here...a little crazy perhaps, but nice enough

Haha, yeah a bit confusing i guess.

Well surprisingly, after shifting some furniture around, i managed to shoe horn the speakers in to my living room!

They are by no means in an optimised set up, but with my neighbour issues, im not going to be able to use them to the full potential for the duration of this tenancy anyway!!

Hence the search for a headphone set up.

Just listening to these AKG K701s, they sounds really crap (so much for "reference" headphones).

Also, i need to think about the long term, im going to be moving out of this place in a year, and the speakers will come with me.

Note to self, get a detached house!!   :thumb:

Yep, I think you are making a wise decision Whytejon. They are already paid for, you love them, and hopefully you will be using them to their full capacity in a year or so.

Yep, I think a wise decision Why.  :D

Hello Jon,
because I'm the owner of another VR5SE anni, I like them too. But a friend of mine is still searching for a used one. We are living in Germany, so it's not too far away. I'm not sure whether you would still like to sell?
Best regards from Germany  - Rolf
