Went to see the "Lemmy" (of Motorhead fame) documentary/movie last night with good friend Jeff Dorgay of TONEAudio.  We went strictly for research purposes, in preparation to see Motorhead live in early February 

I highly recommend seeing "Lemmy" if you like the heavy metal scene and a well done documentary.  It has a gritty slice of life vibe covering Lemmy from his early origins up to his current hanging out as a regular bar fly on the Sunset strip.  He really comes across as a genuine and friendly straight shooter living the rock and roll dream (and, as he admits, the only thing he is really qualified for)

Thanks for the info, sounds interesting!  I'm not a big Motorhead fan, but Lemmy always was a cool guy in interviews.

The Story of Anvil is a great, heart-warming film. I felt so bad for them, such nice guys but they just can't see that, uh..maybe, their music isn't really that good.  It's painful to admit, cause really I was rooting for them throughout the whole movie, but the basic fact as I see it is that their contemporaries simply wrote better tunes.

It is a "real" reality show....and he is the real deal.  I'm certain you would enjoy it.   I've been a rock & roll fan since the 70's, but never was into the heavier stuff (Sabbath, Priest, MH, Iron Maiden and similar), until the past ~5 years or so.  Listening to some of the older Motorhead riffs I can now hear tid bits that Ted Nugent or Motley Crue copied along the way.  It was great to see all the musicians interviewed that looked up to MH as a big influence.

Yep.  It reminded me of watching The Wrestler movie to some extent.

saw Motorhead on our wedding night in Vegas with a bunch of friends back in 2000. Was thrilled to find out they were playing when we arrived the day before. What a blast that was! And it was right in our hotel too! HardRock Madalay Bay

Lemmy has barley aged in 25+ years.

Fwiw, they are underway touring now.  With Lemmy just turning 65 recently I figure this may be the last opportunity to see him live.  Got to do it. And bring ear plugs.

Awesome movie!!!

Lemmy proved that beneath the wacky rock and roll exterior, is a very humble and witty man.  I'd certainly be proud to call him my friend.

I'm going to have to see this. I remember my first MH album, a white vinyl version of the first album. Ah, found a pic.



I sorta remember seeing them in '81 (I think) opening for Ozzy with Randy Rhoads at a small venue, awesome. Lemmy had a big fan blowing on him, likely because he was sweating like mad.

Hope to catch it when it's in town. I will be seeing Motorhead when they come to Seattle next month. Been a fan for over 20 years and this will be the first I have seen them in concert

Got my tickets to see 'em again on this tour - last saw them on the Inferno tour. Can't wait to see the documentary - has anyone heard any of the new album yet ? If so, DISH !!!

Yeah, I remember Motorhead's "White Album ", too. Yoko was starting to hang around too much and it was really taking a toll on the music...A lot of Motorhead fans still blame her for the animosity between Lemmy and Fast Eddie.
