Dodd battery's tube buffer VS other tube preamp
« on: 6 Jan 2011, 05:28 pm »
Anyone here have experience with the Dodd battery's tube buffer vs other tube preamp or buffer devices such as Pass B1, etc...  I am thinking about getting the Dodd's kit and try and want to get some opinion first before making the purchase.  Thanks

How much did you have to spend total for your built.  I know i can get the kit for $350 - maybe $300 if he still offer that special christmas pricing deal, i have the chassis, not sure how much for battery, charger, and whatever else.....

I am working on a kit now. You can probably complete a build for about $50 plus the cost of the kit.

All info supplied from "jtwrace"

This is the same set up I will have up and running hopefully today!
I recently have had Modwright SWL 9.0 SE and Signature, I feel from
reading all the info that a buffer is the way to go as long as your sources
have enough output and your amp has enough gain. Can not quote
comparisons as yet.

Now go and get one!

Looks like it will add another $150 or so for a completed build.  I will have to do some more saving.  Thank you all for your inputs.
