Theta Dreadnaught#1 experiences?
« on: 5 Jan 2011, 02:51 pm »
I have a chance to pick up a 4-200w modual series 1 and was wondering if anyone has tried one of these??The only mutichannel amp I ever had was a Simaudio Titan 7ch and it was nice.
thanks John

The Dread 2 and Dread 3 are supposed to have been big improvements over the Dread 1 - I'd go with one of the newer ones.
Classe makes a real good multichannel amp as well as Bryston.

thanks Bill.I have read this also but I also read that the original Dread had less distortion at higher volumes and since it is a 4ch I figured the transformer should work well....but I like first hand thoughts also.

My prototype "2" in my gallery. They are a big 3-way at 95db sesitivity,so 200w/ch will put out well.
But I use a dual ATC mid and SS9700 hi and 2-12" Volts and one thing is for sure...These speakers donnot lie!
I have owned-PMC MB2,IB1,IB2CC,LB1,AB1,(still have AB2 for rears) and Krell Resolution 3.
My DIY's will show an an amps flaws rather quick(all in my opinion)
