Well I have been in communication with Alex Peychev, of APL Hi-Fi, and he has graciously accepted holding a small get together for those in the Nor Cal area, that would like to hear his gear. I can only imagine TheChairGuy saying it's about time we have some kind of gathering

We are currently thinking of setting things up for the 27th of March. Let us know if this is workable for you guys or not. I am unsure exactly of how many will be able to fit, but it sounds like there will be room for seats for four people at a time. We'll figure everything out depending on how many people there are going to be.

Look to the APL Hi-Fi Circle for more upcoming information from Alex. Looking forward to finally meeting some of you guys, and thanks again to Alex for inviting us to hear his gear! :D

I would like to attend if there's still room.  I'll send Alex an email.

Wolfy, sounds like you might be into some kinkier stuff than audio....we're just having a listening session.  No skin.

Wolfy,

We're the NorCal group (no circle yet, tho).  We're the guys that wish we had the weather that everybody back East thinks all California has  :D

Otherwise, no complaints....

No complaints about the weather lately!

It's been fantastic and the evenings too in San Francisco (you South Bay ppl have it pretty warm overall). As long as the fog doesn't roll in, I'm happy camper.

However, we'll be reverting back to our normally scheduled weather shortly.

Without trying to make this the unoffical NorCal Circle...SFDude, your profile says Location:MD?

Me, I moved from DC 17 months ago......I'm in North Bay now.

I'm unfortunately busy that weekend, but I'd love to attend future get togethers. My wife's also due in July, but if there's another meeting before then, I'm in!

I've been speaking w/ Brian Cheney about getting a demo of the RM/Xs he currently has at his house. If there's interest, I'll ask him about a group demo.

Sa-dono, maybe you can even convince Casler to come down for that

Anyway, great to see there's a NorCal group!

I'd love to hear a modded Philips SACD1000 & anything else worthwhile.  I really like my SACD1000 but would not mind improving the Red Book performance.   I'll contact Alex.

According to Brian last Sunday, the X's are already gone, shipped off to some happy owner.  Brian gave me & Apogee a window of only "4-5 days" to hear them.  We were lucky to make it.

Brian's new $5k Wadia DAC kicks butt.  I can not believe he finally has a remote volume!    I've heard digital domain volume looses bits with reduced levels, but the Wadia sounded fantastic even at lower volume.  The DAC needs no preamp, so B gets to bypass his Jadis JPL.

Sorry ChairGuy. Haven't changed my profile yet. Moved back (yes back) to the Bay Area last October. Was living in Gaithersburg for 2 yrs prior.

So I guess I'm officially back in NorCal!

No probs, SFDude...good to have you back.  Sa-dono and I have been wondering why there weren't more NorCal audiophiles on AudioCircle, but it seems they are now trickling forward.

I spent 8+ years (1994-2002) in DC and Fairfax, VA myself.
