Bryston Only Audio Systems
« on: 26 Dec 2010, 03:00 pm »
I was greatly admiring the photographs that Vipers recently posted of his outstanding audio system and I was wondering how many of our Bryston AudioCircle members have only Bryston components in their audio systems. TTs, Reel-to-Reels, etc... do not count as these are not manufactured by Bryston.

Yes - for all Bryston audio equipment.
No -  for a combination of audio equipment.

Be well...

I think I should have abstained from voting!
I dont even have one Bryston component and I still lurk around here way too much!
But someday soon...

Had to vote no.  I'd have a BDA-1 if my finances could swing it, so I guess I'm not as evil as I may seem.

System -
Bryston B60
Theta Cobalt 307 DAC - soon to be replaced, most likely with Rega DAC
Apple TV Gen 1 as music server
Audio Physic Yara Evolution Bookshelf speakers

I really like PMCs, but I think they're quite expensive compared to what's out there, at least at the lower levels.  Don't get me wrong, they're great speakers, I just think there's too many other great speakers for a bit less.

I only have the Bryston 4B-SST2 and BP-26/1.5 pre/phono
So I am not a real Bryston gal.
Since i have two other preamps (VAC Standard used 'just' as a tube buffer for my DAC, and an Audio Research SP-15 used as a second phono pre)
Then my digital is all older stuff. (that's why i need a tube buffer!!)
I just bought my Bryston stuff last Spring, so it will be awhile before i have any more cash to spend on Stereo equipment.
So I am not an all Bryston person. Sorry!

No - combination of audio equipment

Bryston BDP-1

Yamaha RX-A 1000 used as dac for now and preamp - ordering McIntosh C48 or C50 preamp as dac built in ( no surround sound at all or video )

McIntosh  MC300 stereo power amp

Sonos Zoneplayer 90 to access sirius radio connected to dac on Yamaha receiver

If there was a way to control volume from Bryston BDP-1 into Bryston BDA-1 , than I would do this instead of preamp with built in dac

+1.  I love the X-05 but if the BDP had been available last year around this time I might have it plus the BDA and BCD.  I was looking for a solution to address the legacy CD collection and the going forward hi rez acquizitions so I went the SACD route.  The Bryston trio would have been an ideal solution for these requirements.  I have a pair of 7BSST2's, BP26/MPS2 and the Torus CS15 making me a pretty solid Bryston guy :D.

I am in a similar boat as Steven.  If you really want to split hairs, I do not have a Bryston phono stage but have an Aragon 47k.  But to make up for this I have a Bryston 10B and a Bryston Director's chair.
