This unit was originally designed to be a high-end preamplifier. Earned a standout room from Soundtage at CES 2004. http://www.margules.com.mx This unit seems to address the the two channel preamp performance that many reasonably priced pre/pro lack. The unit is built to high quality audio standards and should offer superior two-channel performance along with multichannel applications. At $1200, am not sure there is anything available better other than maybe the Threshold Dragon V Multichannel Integrated Amplifier.

Wish they had a picture on the website.  The only other MC preamp you can buy new for that price is the Vaza from Adire Audio.  I've sadly never had the chance to hear either.

Wow! :o  That's a nice looking preamp!  It sure doesn't look like $1200.  Wonder if it sounds as pretty as it looks?

That sounds like a pretty good deal.  Are you talking buying it factory direct?

Does anyone know if this will provide more than one MC input?  I have two MC inputs.  The Adire's one MC input won't suffice if I was to break down and buy a MC preamp.

I think it has 2 x 5.1 inputs.  And while it's mostly a preamp as opposed to being a prepro (no DTS/DD) it does seem to offer video switching.

The unit is impressive I have the honor to know Mr. Margules sincemany years ago, as supplier and as dealer I am, and this product is really interesting with that new awesome design.

I'll try not to forget my camera next time I goto his lab and get some shots of the product.

You can check also the tube amps which were very praised by soundstage.com reviews.

earlmarc, how did you contact Marguiles?  I'm pretty interested in the Daleth, and I'd sure like to get a bit more detailed info on it.  Is there anywhere you can download the owners manual?  Just where/how would a person go about buying one?

I would like a bit more into before reserving one... I wonder how its faux surround feature works?  How does it compare to PLII?  I've become pretty spoiled by PLII, and it'd be hard to imagine getting by without it.

Are there any full reviews of the Daleth anywhere?

switching threads from the Dagon V.......  any idea how this Daleth would perform as a 2ch preamp, or specifically how it might compare to a dedicated $1k 2ch preamp?  Empirical gives Margules a thumbs up and that's great to hear, but I don't find any reviews or any way to gauge how this might perform as a stereo preamp?  The site says it utilizes 5 class A discreet preamp channels and is microprocessor controlled.  Is this a good thing or a compromise to allow HT remote switching?

While the Threshold seems like a steal, this might be even better if it's a good enough preamp to overcome the extra set of cables and synergy issues.  I would guess the Dragon is mostly a passive preamp section.  I also like the fact I could sell my current Anthem preamp (any idea if this should be better?) and still use my digital amp until I get more speakers and then decide what to do for amps.

Spoke with Margules today about the Daleth Multichannel preamplifier. He stated that 20 units have gone out and they have experienced no problems with those units. He is upgrading the Daleth now with a shunt power supply. The other units used a serial power supply. He stated that he is quite impressed with the results of the new power supply. A friend of his that works for NASA introduced him to shunt power supply. He expects these new units to be available in several weeks.
