Tech Bargains Link

Walmart has the Panasonic VIERA TC-P50S2 50in Plasma (1080p) for $749, with free shipping. I assume in-store pick-up is also available, but have not confirmed that.

Here's a Panasonic 50" 1080p Plasma for $700. A different model. It was rated the best picture quality by Consumer Reports.

The TC-P50S2 and TC-P50U2 (both 2010 models) have exactly the same specs/features, except that the S2 has an Anti-Reflective Filter and a Clean Touch Bezel.

Seeing how I hate reflections from either the screen or the bezel, I would likely throw in the extra $50 for the S2.

That's a heck of a price and if they have antireflective that could be nice. But don't get to worried alot of plasmas deal with  reflection just Fine it's not as big a problem as some would have you believe bottom line is plasma has a much better pic

Okay, I would spend $50 for the non-reflective bezel alone!

I'm a big fan of plasma, my own TV is a 58" Samsung plasma. But I do have to admit that the one real drawback of plasma is that the screen noticeably more reflective than an LCD screen in rooms where light control is an issue. I would definitely recommend springing the extra bucks for the anti-reflective filter if your room has lighting issues.

Perhaps the reason the U series rated a little higher in picture quality is because in a very dark room the anti-reflective coating may detract slightly from PQ. I suspect the PQ was judged in a dark room. Nevertheless I too would opt for the set with the AF coating for the extra bucks.

And I'd spend $100 more not to buy them at Walmart OR Best Buy.  :thumb:
