I bought an Ultravalve used a few weeks ago and there was a hum coming from it although it sounded fine the hum just bugged me.(only when there was nothing playing) Since I live in MPLs. I finally decided to call Frank and see if he would check it out, even though I didn't buy it from the original owner, which makes it not covered under warranty. Frank and Dean spent the better part of an hour going over the unit and enterntaining me(putting up with me?) playing music through the Salk speakers and their new DAC.
These guys are class acts and when I have the bug again, I wouldn't give it a second thought, I would look there first. The Ultravalve sounds great after the bias adjustment, I really didn't realize what a diffrence that makes. It is just captivating the way it sounds, with my Heron i's.
