Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine is going into the DSLR business (photo-taking, that is), so I would like to find a store for him in the San Fran area, if there's such a place, similar or even close to the B&H store in NYC.  With such a store carrying the many name brands, and possibly putting them on the floor for play, he can go in to play with any brand to his heart's content before buying a DSLR  for himself, in addition to his reading up in the various review sites.  I haven't been to the San Fran area for years, so I'm clueless when it comes to finding him a store.  I just thought that the Bay Area must have something like a B&H?

Downtown SF is Adolph Gasser, which I personally don't like. it peaked a decade ago. some used stuff.
Calumet in the Mission on Bryant has a nice staff and lots of new equipment (oddly not open on Sunday)
and down here on the Peninsula is Keeble and Shucket on California Ave, in Palo Alto (two different stores, one camera one lighting and pro equip) I think K/S has the most camera equipment of the three. There are likely other stores in the Bay Area but those are the ones I know after 20 years here.

BTW, None are like B&H...a unique place [pic]

San Jose Camera.  I've bought a few cameras from them.  They seem to have a knowledgeable staff.
