I've got too much stuff.  This is a very fine sounding amp, but I listen to a lot of female vocals and find myself drawn back to tubes, so I am letting this go.  This Class D amp was expertly built by Jason who also designed and sold the very fine metal Class D amp enclosures here on AC under the moniker JTWRACE.  The build quality is excellent, no issues, very quiet.  The amp is in perfect condition, with the single-ended RCAs connected at this time.  I have used this amp with both solid state and tube preamps with great results.  Drives both 8 ohm or 4 ohm speakers.  The kit alone cost $310, the metal case $200 and the small parts about $50 more, so you are getting a fully built plug and play power amp for about the price of raw parts.  You can see the specs for the SDS254 kit at ClassDAudio.com and I can send pictures of the amp upon request.  Selling for $535 shipped in the continental US.  Please email me directly at meicheng101@sbcglobal.net for pics or purchase.

Bump!

This is the same amp that I auditioned for about a week in my system. I currently own a small variant of the amp (slightly tweaked power supply), and you can see that build on the Lab forum or on the Cheap and Cheerful forum. My review of the original version which Meicheng is selling is right here.

Good luck with the sale. Honestly, if you are looking into a differential stereo amplifier under $1K that competes with amps up to the $3K region, then keep this fella for your comparisons...that's what I am doing with mine. In other words, if it's a solid state amp and it doesn't sound as good as the SDS254, then it's out.

Best,

Anand.

It is:

125 watts into 8 ohms.
250 watts into 4 ohms.

All info pertaining to the amp module is right here. It also includes an excellent differential input stage designed by Bill Whitlock of Jensen Transformers (but it doesn't use an input transformer). That white paper/info is right here. It's called the InGenius circuit.

Price drop to $475 shipped.  This is less than the cost of all the parts for a fully assembled amp.

What's a differential stereo amplifier? I was considering buying a new Van Alstine Insight 240, but it sounds like I should also consider this.

If only it was a SDS 258, I'd be in. Looking for more power.
