3 (+1 extra) Early Tung-Sol JTL-5687 Ribbed Plate Rectangular Getter - SOLD

Offered are 3 ultra rare very early Tung-Sol JTL-5687 vacuum tubes with ribbed plates (like 12AX7) and a vertically-oriented rectangular getter.  Only one of the tubes has a date code I can read, and it appears to be 2220-49.  This would seem to indicate some of the earliest 1949 production.  Tubes #1 and #2 appear identical, while tube #3 has different printing.

Also included is another early Tung-Sol JTL-5687 with ribbed plates but with a horizontally-oriented oval D-shaped getter.  I cannot seem to find a date code on this (there is an SC450A code), but I believe that it is slightly later than the other 3.  This tube may have issues (see below), but the getter looks OK so I am including it with the others.

These are military pulls and are to be considered USED.  Physically they appear to be in good shape, albeit a little dusty.  I have not cleaned or altered these in any way.

I tested these on my Weston 981 III, where min (65%) is 1430, making “theoretical” 100% about 2200.  The results are as follows:

Tube #1   2400/2300
Tube #2   2500/2600
Tube #3   2550/2650
Tube #4   ?

Because tube #4 had odd behavior on my Weston, I ran it through a Precision 660 emission tester, where it tested very high at 102/98 (65+ is good, and 84 is supposed to be average new according to the manual).  In both testers, however, the tube seemed to run hotter than normal.

I can provide additional pictures upon request.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PLEASE RAD CAREFULLY

Please note that these tubes are being sold 'AS IS', but I will guarantee against a material misdescription in the listing.  In such event, I will refund purchase price less shipping upon return of the tube(s).

I ONLY describe what I know about the tubes, and what I have tested for.  Although my tube testers tend to be reliable, YOUR TUBE TESTER MAY GIVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THAN MINE, so please take that into account.  If the information is not there, DO NOT ASSUME, and do not rely on any of YOUR assumptions.  If you need more information than provided in the listing, ASK IN ADVANCE.  If I happen to have the information, I will provide it.  If I can get the information in a reasonable way, I will get it.  If I do not call a tube NOS, consider that tube used.  I do the best I can with very limited time and capabilities.  I am an honest seller, but I am NOT a tube professional, and I am NOT in the tube business.

AS SUCH, PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE (OR EVEN REMOTELY PREDICT) HOW THESE TUBES WILL SOUND OR PERFORM IN YOUR EQUIPMENT.  THE TEST RESULTS ARE ONLY PROVIDED AS AN INDICATION OF TUBE PERFORMANCE IN A VERY LIMITED (AND NON-IDEAL) ENVIRONMENT.  EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY INDICATED IN THIS LISTING, I DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THESE TUBES, OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THEM.

Money order/cashiers check/personal check preferred, but all (other than US Postal money orders) must clear my bank first.  I also accept Paypal for convenience (but add 3% to the total for USA, and 4% to the total everywhere else).

Unless otherwise requested, shipping in the USA is via US Postal Priority Mail (add $5, insurance if desired is extra), and shipping outside the USA is via US Postal First Class Mail International (fee depends on location, and insurance may not be available).

Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.
