As I read the info line on this table, you also get the outer rim record clamp and record weight, plus the 10.5" arm with anti-skate and VTA on the fly. The plinth must be massive as the specs say 3/4" think aluminum.

I need to start a new non-profit organization, of course, I would be the CEO. I think I like PETI (People for the Ethical Treatment of Insects. Yes, that should raise some TT money........heh, heh.

Price?
If you must ask, you can't afford it.

Impressive.  Not cheap at $6K, but it has a pretty trick 10.5" arm with VTA included for the price.

For those in the US (costs more in other countries) looking for an uber-table...this is likely hard to beat

$7200 with SDS and that completes the picture.  It's likely nothing but pure subjectivity as to what sounds better once you get to near this level.

Me? - probably stick with the VPI Classic 1 I have and keep wondering if the next stupid $5500 I spend on this thankless addiction should be for a SoundSmith Strain Gauge cartridge/demodulator set-up

Playing now, Keith Jarrett Solo Concerts Side 3...with a Denon DL-160vdH.  Sounds nice to me.

Seriously impressive kit....kudo's to Harry Weisfeld :thumb:

Just curious as to where the specs are posted. On  VPI's site, the Classic 3 says "Under Construction" and on the Music Direct site they list "half-inch thick aluminum plinth".

See love to see / hear one!  Can't afford it, that's for sure!
But loved all the VPI tables!  Kudos to Harry!

1/2" thick aluminum platter is probably about the thickness of the VPI Classic 1 that's sitting to my right....so how is the Classic 3 platter an upgrade?

Plinth, not platter.

My Music Direct catalog came yesterday and I saw the discrepancy, as well as the "and steel" part.  It's a beautiful looking table though, and I suppose it doesn't much matter, but for $6K I prefer 1" all-titanium!

BTW, Music Direct is known for jumping the gun and listing products that either aren't officially released or don't yet have final specifications.

It's a beauty. I'd like to have the arm.

VPI says the plinth is 1/2" aluminum. Wonder if it rings?

I'm still waiting for last years Christmas present, The CARS-Candy-O that was in last years catalog (on MOFI) and it's in there this year, still "unavailable".

I'd say a year is jumping the gun.
