About the Gardenby Karl Gaskill I first came to the Stehekin Valley via the pacific crest trail in 1975 and fell in love with it and the Paysaten wilderness area to the North I had just hiked through. I purchased my property in 1979, six acres with an acre organic garden. I met my wife in the garden the previous year. Together we originated and operated the Honey Bear Bakery on our property, expanded the garden into a commercial venture, established bees for honey production and goats for cheese making and manure for the garden, and created a working self sufficient homestead.
It must be nice to be retired. But how many of those AVA t-shirt do you have, or is it the same one?
Nice pics marty. Some special country around here, everything from the rainforest to the desert, with lots 'o mountains to spare. Looking forward to making the connection next year, and meeting you & Sheila. For me retired will mean going down to Les Schwab for a new set of radials.
